    5 Days in Margaret River & the South West WA Itinerary

    This is deliberately compact — Margaret River and the immediate coast, not an attempt to also cover Albany, Denmark or the Stirling Range. Trying to fit the whole south-west into five days means rushing all of it; this plan picks the region most people are actually after.

    Perth is the start and finish point. Collect a hire car at Perth Airport and return it there — there's no relocation logistics to plan around on a trip this size.

    Margaret River is wine country first, but the caves, forest and coastline are what fill out a five-day trip rather than a weekend one.

    • Cellar door tastings are commonly $10–$25 and often waived if you buy a bottle — ask before you sit down if that matters to your budget.
    • Show cave entry is separately ticketed per cave; if you want to see more than one, ask about a combined multi-cave pass at the first one you visit.
    • Margaret River accommodation books out for the region's food and wine festivals and over summer holidays — check the local events calendar before locking in dates.
